About Campus Stores Canada
Campus Stores Canada (CSC) was established in October 2004 as a joint effort on behalf of the Western Canadian College Stores Association (WCCSA) and the Eastern Association of College Stores (EACS), as a national face to provide education, professional development and professional support to the Canadian Campus Retail Industry. Combining the efforts of both regional associations, CSC establishes a strong national network among institution-owned campus stores, achieving unity and support from province to province.
Store membership is restricted to post secondary institution-owned stores. CSC presently represents approximately 95 member stores nationwide.
Suppliers to campus stores can become vendor Partner of CSC. Currently, there are over 100 vendor partners.
CSC holds two major events annually:
- CSCEx - This annual exposition event comprises a Trade Show, a day of education sessions, membership meetings, and occasionally tours of suppliers or bookstores. The trade show typically has around 120 exhibitor booths focusing on the merchandise retail side of the industry. Managers and buyers from member stores across Canada attend this show and place orders with exhibiting vendor partners.
- CSC Symposium - The fall symposium event attracts over 150 registrants annually. This educational conference focuses on store management and the publishing side of the campus bookstore sector, including informative sessions on future trends, management techniques and personnel training that enhances the skill set of the campus bookstore managers and staff.
