Earlier this week Google notified us that they will be ending the Google eBooks reseller program effective January 31, 2013. This announcement has taken us by surprise and is very disappointing. The decision affects Campus eBookstore and all the other worldwide resellers including the American Booksellers Association, Powell's, and Alibris. The news is especially difficult for independent bookstores or college stores with a trade focus. For college stores, keep in mind that Google only had a small fraction of the course materials (less than eight percent) in their repository, and general reading ebooks can be obtained from other suppliers.
